Soutelu aamu-usvaisella elokuisella järvellä auringonnousun aikaan muodostui lähes riitinomaiseksi toistuvaksi tavaksi. Pysähdyin ikiaikaisen kalliopaljastuman, Ukonnokan, suoran seinämän kylkeen kuvaamaan.  Arkaaisten elementtien äärellä kuvittelin, miten muinaiset ihmiset olivat havainneet saman kiven, veden ja valon leikin, kallion pyhän paikan. Nähneet kuten itsekin, miten valosta syntyneet varjohahmot leikkivät kiven iholla. Havainnot toivat mieleen muinaisen luonnonuskontojen maailmankuvan, jossa alinen, keskinen ja ylinen taso ovat läsnä yhtä aikaa. 

When i am in my boat on the calm lake i see reflection everywhere. The whole lake is a big mirror and i am in the center of it. There is the sky on my head and the sky under my feet, and i am a pole of the circle which is scape without perspective. And i float in the scape without a goal or a direction.

Alongside the archaic elements, I imagined how ancient people had perceived the same stone, the play of water and light, the sacred place of the rock. I have seen, like me, how the shadow figures created by the light play on the stone's skin. The observations brought to mind the ancient world view of natural religions, where lower, middle and higher levels are present at the same time
